Yagiz Avci with his codriver Bahadir Gucenmez with Peugeot 208 R5 continues to lead convincingly after the 4th Avren 2 at Rally Bulgaria. Meanwhile, Plamen Staikov with Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 was the fastest in the stage with a time of 8:52.3 min. After a puncture in the 2nd leg, Staykov recorded the best time in the 3rd and in the 4th stage. So he moved from 27th to 24th in the overall standings.
Avci slowed down and ended quietly in the third stage, knowing that in the general standings he led 1:04.3 min ahead of his compatriot Burak Cukurova / Vedat Bostanci with Škoda Fabia R5.
Chukurova finished second in the stage, setting a time of 8:56.9 min. From the Bulgarian drivers only Ignat Isaev fights with the Turkish crews. He finished fifth in stage 20.8 seconds from Staykov, and in the overall ranking was 3rd, 2 minutes from leader Avci.
Fifth is Grigor Grigorov with Peugeot 208 R2, which moved ahead of Tihomir Stratiev with the same car. The latter is the 7th in the general standings, and was also overtaken by Miroslav Angelov with Peugeot 208 R2.
Stanislav Stoev dropped out of the competition after a technical problem, and Zdravko Minev didn’t started at the stage because also of a technical problem. So far, there have been no serious incidents in the rally except Riza Rizov/Ivan Ovcharov, who hit a tree after breaking one of his wheels. Both drivers are unharmed.
